A Compact, bench-mounting tester. It finds the resistance to fracture by impact shock of plastic materials. The prepared test specimen mounts vertically in the base of the machine. A single blow of the pendulum hammers of the machine fractures the specimen. The tester has a heavy base with integral test specimen support block and grips. The pendulum moves on bearings. A locking system holds the pendulum in the raised position. For safety, the operator has to use both hands and levers to release the pendulum. An integral guard and ‘pendulum stop’ allow safe installation of the test piece and use of the machine. The grips of the specimen support hold the test specimen. The operator uses a setting gauge when fitting the specimen. This ensures that the notch of the specimen lies in the same plane as the upper surface of the specimen Support. The single-arm pendulum has a hammer with a striking nose that presents a surface radius to the test specimen. A dial shows the energy absorbed in breaking the specimen (In Joules). 600 mm x 600 mm You must fix the tester firmly to a strong and rigid bench. 510 mm x 410 mm x 650 mm and 135 kg
